Electrostatic Disinfecting
Electrostatic disinfecting (also known as electrostatic cleaning) eliminates germs in hard-to-clean areas where contaminants would otherwise survive. It involves a chemical disinfectant solution, which our technicians apply to all surfaces through the use of a cordless handheld machine. The solution’s molecular chemical makeup ensures the disinfectant is distributed evenly everywhere to create 360° coverage on all of your surfaces. 3 Keys to Proper Disinfecting
- Confirm your cleaning service provider uses stainless steel nozzles. (These will hold up over time.)
- Check that it uses a chemical process that offers a present-day cleaning solution with products on the CDC’s N-list and is safe for use around delicate areas and electronics.
- Make sure its solutions are being dispersed safely and consistently. It should saturate the space and the atmosphere with a fine mist or fog. The fogger should be given around 15-30 minutes to achieve full efficacy.
Key Considerations for Janitorial Services
How soon can a space be used after an electrostatic and/or fogging disinfecting service?
Spaces can be used an hour after the electrostatic and fogging disinfectant services. We recommend that all personnel vacate the service area during these services and that all air units and fans be shut off until the space is reoccupied.
How often do you recommend the service be conducted?
Electrostatic and fogging services can be conducted as often as required by the site and situation. Medical facilities typically require more frequent services, however during peak flu seasons sensitive facilities (e.g. education centers, sports facilities, etc.) tend to increase their service frequency.
How long does the service last on the treated areas?
The service lasts throughout the chemical dwell time and as long as the space is not reinfected with bacteria and/or viruses. If you think a space becomes reinfected, then we recommend follow-up electrostatic/fogging services.
